Need Help choosing Shotgun

Hey guys I'm new to firearms and whould like to get a shotgun for HD. No I'm not gonna ask which one I should get 870 or mossberg. My question is 870 express Super Magnum or 870 express magnum what dose the magnum mean? Whats the difference these and the others shotguns in there line up. Also is it only for Reminton only, Mossberg seems to be more stright forward with there line up. Thnx

I believe magnum can take the 3 1/2 inch shells.

Magnum should be fine, Super Magnum is for psycho, recoil loving duck hunters.

Actually, it is the super magnum which is 3.5". I believe this designation also corresponds to the Remington product line, i.e., a magnum shotgun takes up to 3" and a super magnum takes the 3.5"
