    Skeet loads

What is your favorite skeet load? talking commercially available target loads. I have been using the wally federals but they are a little on the heavy side
    (2 3/4 1 1/8oz #8 3 dram) for all day shooting and also a bit dirty .

I need something that will still feed well in my beretta 391 and possibly reloadable as I may start even though there isnt much of a savings. Looking for 1oz 2 3/4 dram

If you want reloadable ammo, you'll pay a bit more from the start, but the Remington STS hulls really are nice to reload and they will reload up to about 12-15 times if you keep to fast burning powder and light ish loads.. say an ounce of shot @ 1145-1200 fps. I used to like the Winchester AA's but haven't really liked the newer HS hull, though people say that they reload similar to the old Compression formed AA. I used to get over 10 reloads on one of those..

The ribbed Remington gun club hulls were usually good for at least 5 reloads before the crimp started cracking.

Assuming you're talking about 12ga, 1oz of #8 at 1200 fps is the standard. Start there. If you're really concerned about having the best possible hits, you need to take your gun to a patterning board and see how different loads create different patterns. Your gun might like 1300fps better, or maybe not. Check out the Chokes and Patterns section of ChuckHawks.com, located on this page: http://www.chuckhawks.com/index2c.shotguns.htm

The best factory shells are Winchester AA and Remington STS. You get the best shot, best wads, as well as durable, reloadable hulls. STS is best to reload for 12 and 20ga, AA for 28 and .410.
