    W. Collath Sohne double barrel

    Hey guys I was wondering is any of you could tell me the value of this shotgun and any info about it. Thanks for your help.

    The problem is that depending on what model it is, values can vary greatly.

    Here's one that sold for $500 but there are no pictures.

        I'd post your pix and questions on www.doublegunshop.com/BBS . They have a "German and Austrian Gun" forum about the fifth or sixth on their list of forums. Somebody there will give you a whole lot of info.

        That is obviously a high grade double, and Collath was a first class maker. They made hammer and hammerless doubles, combination rifle/shotguns, and double and bolt action rifles. I don't know if they had a standard line of guns; all I have seen were obviously custom made to some degree. Collath originated a line of proprietary rifle cartridges as well; most are rare now.

        This is a double worth some research, for sure.
