I have a Mossberg 500 combo 12 gauge. Finally got out to use it for the first time a few weeks ago. I had a fun but felt that the gun didn't fit me well. I'm 5'5" tall and have short arms. I felt I had to "reach" to hold it secure and that it didn't fit well with my short arms and frame. What are some options to help get a better fit? Adjustable or shorter stock maybe? Any suggestions?

The length of pull is too long on most shotguns. You simply need to have the stock shortened. This can easily be done for wood or synthetic stocks or by purchasing a youth stock for it. Your local sporting clay place is likely the best place to help you get it shortened or let you try a shotgun with a youth stock before you buy one.RIP Louis Awerbuck. As the above poster said, you can buy an aftermarket stock with a short length of pull, usually called youth stocks.
On the other hand, you can buy something like this http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/61022073-1.html
I bought one for my Remington 870 because I have the same problem. I'm only 5'5" as well. I got mine a few days ago in the mail and installed it a few hours ago. I haven't shot it yet, but it fits me better. It is much more comfortable and should offer better control as a result. Good thing about the Blackhawk stock is you can buy the model that offers recoil reduction. It's more expensive and the regular stock has a Limbsaver pad on it anyway.
Anyway, hope that helps.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕComment
