mossberg 930spx failure to feed new generation!!!!!

first off i have a 4 month old mossberg 930spx and it shot like a champ from super cheap light loads to buck and slugs.never had any jams until all of a sudden i went to the local shooting range. first i though it just didnt want to cycle the light loads that i was shooting the Winchester bulk 100 pack from walmart.. so i shrugged it off... and when i got it home i decided to look into it. what i found is that my my extractor will extract a shell and while its on its way back it drops the shell mid way. i tried this from moving the charging handle back super hard as if it were shot and it would jam my gun. and when i would do a slo-mo is when i noticed the shell never even comes close to being extracted...sucks so im either going to call reeds indoor in sanjose or mossberg tomorrow. im just curious just to know if anyone else has had this problem because i know its happen to others but if they were able to diagnose the problem.. and if any other 930 owners can help me out by sending me pics of their bolt with the extractor because i believe mine may have to much slack. thanks guys!

I pick up mossberg 930spx blackwater in a few days from the 10 day. If I get any problems, I'll post here and let you know as well if I get this problem.

what generation do you have? and does it happen to a certain ammo? cuz wen i shoot i mix my mag tube with watever is out and i notice that while shooting the lighter loads the empty shells dont get thrown with much speed. as if with a hotter load or heavier. i also heard that while storing ur gun if u have extraction problems some people have the action locked open, im not to sure if thats true but its free and u can give it a try. just let me know some symptoms or if u can get some vids or it shooting im willing to help out a fellow 930 owner.

not sure which generation i have, i purchased it about 6 months ago. i didn't keep track of the different loads used, but i recall it worked great the first 75 rds, but then starting have extraction issues afterwards. i'll try leaving the action open to see if it helps.

Not the first thread I've seen of the Winchester value pack not working well with the 930 SPX. I shot Federal game/target pack last weekend and I only had one FTF that was ammo related. The primer was struck it just didn't go off.

Call Mossberg. You may have a broken extractor spring. If hand cycling shows the shell dropping from under the extractor before striking the ejector it's more than likely a broken part. Since this is a new occurrence I wouldn't condem or label the entire line of products.
If you have a flat slightly curved charging handle it's a first generation. Round charging handle, it's second (or later) generation.
My first 930SPX was a lemon. FTF, FTFeed, FTE and eject. Mossberg made it right on the second trip to their service center....They sent me a brand new gun that has been everything that should be. It worked perfectly out of the box and has continued to for the last two years (no matter what I feed it- including hundreds of Winchester Universal)

Since you were able to figured out that the malfunctions were a result of user err and no fault of the gun itself, perhaps you could change the title of your thread a bit so that it is not so misleading?
