I tried it on a dry phone book and the pellets only penetrated about half way through... not impressive IMHO.

Right through what? The perp or walls? It depends. Go to truthbox for some cool vids on penetration power of certain shots. General consensus though is either 00 or 4 buck.

A reasonably clever marketing gimmick to separate casual shooters into parting with some money. PDX shotgun ammo is not much better, IMO.

To the uninitiated, it's another unproven claim packaged to look like the pentultimate in home defense - kills like a deathray, but won't spoil the carpet or pierce the wallboard when you miss the perp completely. It is probably self-cleaning too.
