    Inexpensive break-open 12ga shotgun

I'm looking for an inexpensive break open 12ga shotgun.

I'd like it to be a functional gun but also something I could hang on the wall for decoration. For me that means wood and metal. In this case it's form over function, however I'd like to be able to shoot it.

Not sure what new models are available, or what old models I should be looking for and any advice is appreciated.

NEF/H&R Pardner single barrel shotgun. Should be around $150-200 depending on condition.

If you have a single barrel in mind, don't overlook the Baikal MP18. These are Russian made, simple and robust. They can be found with wood or synthetic furniture if you look around a bit. Usually $150 or less new for a basic model.

Bought a H&R Pardner single shot for $109 from Big5 before tax/DROS. It's a nice little shotgun for the price. This thing KICKS though......mainly because of it's light weight I'm sure. Would look nice hanging on a wall.

I have a Norinco 12ga "coach gun" that I picked up for $239 - and it's a decent gun for the price. The only thing negative I've heard is that firing both barrels at the same time can break the stock at the wrist.

Keep an eye on the WTS ads, they come up occasionally but go quick.
You should be able to pick up a decent old single used for $100, or a double for twice that. New is a different story, but still very affordable.

Sounds like you're in no big hurry, which is great because you can take your time stalking the auction sites for steals on good used stuff.

I don't know if an H&R/NEF/Whatever single shot would be decorative enough for you, but I found an NEF that looked new except for a small scratch on the barrel for $35.
