    Stoeger Condor over/under shotguns?

    Hi guys,

Do any of you have a Stoeger Condor 20 gauge over/under shotgun? I want a shotgun for clay shooting. It will be both for my g/f and I, we went to Oak Tree today and rented some shotguns. The 20 gauge over/under fit both of us well.

    Thoughts/opinions?
    Thanks,
    Emil

From this review, its okay if you use it for a few hundred a year but it will not hold up if you shoot a few hundred rounds a week.

Hi, thanks for posting the link. I don't understand what that wheel type release mechanism is for, is that for opening the breech to reload or for disassembly?
      Thanks,
      Emil

The wheel is to disassemble the fore end from the barrel set.

I've considered the Condor as well and the couple I've handled / tried pointed and shot well enough for me. My mind was made up when I handled a somewhat well used Condor Competition recently. The gun in question is several years old and has been getting probably a couple hundred rounds a month run through it pretty consistently. The action was obviously loose, even in lock up there were a bit of wiggle. To me, not good.

I'd still consider a Condor for a hunting gun, but I stopped considering one for clays then and there.

for a little more $, check out the Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U series.... I have a 20 gauge O/U that I shoot skeet with. it's held up well for me. I assume you guys will be casual shooters? if you are going to shoot a couple times a month, you don't need a high end O/U.

they have both side by sides and O/U's... scroll through to see all the options.

I love my Stoeger. I have a SxS that I used for skeet about 9 years ago. I only used it for a bit but it was great! I still have it and although it's not a top of the line brand, it is built tough and I've had no complaints.

I "somehow" shot a double charged handload through it once it was solid like a tank. I'm not sure if my other doubles or Aya would have done so well.

I have a 20ga Condor Supreme 24". Great little gun. Primarily bought it for clay shooting as a starter o/u.

                      Hey Emil77,

                      PM sent...

It's not the condor, but I love my Stoeger. I really don't use it much anymore because my other shotguns are a little better. Not that i'm knocking Stoeger, my is built like a tank and i'm not getting rid of it.

But, The Longshot but it well.

I've got the Condor Outback, but in 12, not 20. Been happy with it generally.
