    Blackhawk Recoil Reducing Stocks

Just wondering if the Blackhawk Specops Gen II Recoil Reducing Stocks are worth the money? I have seen them from $99.95 - 134.95 but are they worth it? FYI - I tried searching the forums but it's not cooperating at the moment. Keep getting an error message.

The reviews I've seen from Nutnfancy and Patriot on youtube say that while they reduce recoil they sorta smack your check pretty hard...like punch you in the face hard. Also the one nutnfancy was using actually broke.

Nutnfancy and Patriot are idiots. The stocks work as advertised, but you do need to learn how to properly shoot them.

I did install a BLACKHAWK recoil reducing stock on my Mossberg 500 and it dramatically reduced the felt recoil. I will be the first to admit that my Mossberg is MY first personal shotgun so I was pretty much a newb when I first started shooting it. The first time i shot it with the standard stock my whole shoulder was black blue and purple (porbably because I wasn't holding it correctly against my shoulder). The second time I shot it (I still wasn't very seasoned) it had the BLACKHAWK stock installed and I walked away with no more than what looked like a rash on my shoulder. Very comfortable stock.

They also say that it helps reduce the muzzle rise although I can't say that I am experienced enough to notice that it was that drastic. I hope this helps.

I did have the stock smack me in the face a couple times, but I am gonna chalk that up to my own inexperience more than an inherent design flaw. Find a cheek riser for it if it is that big of a deal for you.

Anyone getting check slap is not using the stock correctly. That nutfancy is an idiot and I hope the damage went down to his nads so he does breed other idiots. Every clown with a camera and a gun is a star on youtube.

I also question the gun knowledge of anyone watching his video's or refering to them in a serious gun discussion. But I guess in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. So I would say to that person if you want correct information on this stock go to www.aiptactical.com and click on the red link "Breaking in the 870" and scroll down to the part about shooting recoil stock correctly.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

I've tried 1st generation Blackhawks stocks and didn't care for them. I went to a local gunsmith and had both synthetic and wood stocks reduced to 13" lop and had a limbsaver grind to fit pad installed. I am much happier with this limbsaver setup and it had similar recoil reduction to the Blackhawks.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.
