Please help me make this Browning A5 complete

I was at the Costa Mesa gun show yesterday with a family friend, he is much older and wiser than I am and my wife considers him her dad. he is one of the kindest folks you will ever meet.

When I dragged him out to the show it was his very first. He liked it a lot and was very low key. he is a man not all about himself. He is a Vietnam vet and wore his hat and shirt saying so. When he met other vets he would say whatever he could to make the other guy's service look better than his. He is truly very quiet about his service and does his best to draw as little attention to himself as possible.

While walking the grounds he spotted a browning A5 shotgun. This one was from the 1970s but was still brand new. It was new old stock from a dealer who retired. My friend's eyes gleamed when he saw it. He said quietly, "This is just like the one I had when I was 16." I did the math and figured his was from the late 50s to early 60s. He said the only difference is that this one he saw has a gold trigger. He enjoyed the rest of the show but was really enamored with the shotgun.

When I got home and told my wife the story she wondered why I did not buy it for him. Then Sunday morning I had planned to take the Toyota to town and go shopping. My wife said no way, she will shop. I am to get cash out of the safe and drive the Porsche to the gun show (what a wife!) and get that shotgun. So I did.

I want to make it a gift to our friend but wish it to be as complete as possible. I hope you can help me with my questions.

Can I get an original owners manual or box anywhere? I checked ebay but have no idea what the one I want is supposed to look like.

Can I get the gold trigger replaced? Can I do this myself or is it a big deal? Are they interchangeable with other A5 parts like an AR15 would be or did the models change over the years?

Is there a Browning A5 case available for the shotgun and its one barrel, taken down?

re there any issues with the A5 or things to watch for? Parts that are finicky or break easy or something that may need attention that I need to now about?

Will a standard 12ga cleaning kit be all that he will need for it?

Is there anything else that I missed?

I am an infant when it comes to A5 knowledge and hope there are experts here who can tell me things that I need to know so that I can make this the best gift that I can. It's in DROS jail right now. When it comes out I'll so what I need to, if anything, and then DROS it to him afterwards.

    Thanks for any input!

Numrich has the gold trigger for $45. (Part number 69) http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...px?catid=14505

I have a Remington 11-48 which was based on the A5. As long as the friction ring and recoil spring are in good shape, the thing should be dead nuts reliable.

As for finding the box and manual, that might be tough. Check Gunbroker or Gunsamerica. If you find it anywhere it'd be on one of those two auction sites.

I think he meant that this new gun has a gold trigger and he wants to replace it for a standard steel one.
