    one shot extension?

I'm working with a police trade in 870 12 gauge magnum (takes the 3 inch shells). It's fairly old and I really dont mind having the stock capacity but if I can get one more shell out of it I'd like that. A few people recommended wilson extensions or OEM but I'm having issues finding the OEM and I'm not sure if the wilson combat one is worth the money.

    Any ideas guys?

Wilson is the best value in an extension for and 870 on the market. I install hundreds of them and have never had an issue. I use Wilson Combat extension on all my personal weapons yet have dozen of Remington extension on the shelves. So, Wilson is a better tube for less then half the price.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Wilson/scattergun technologies is definately the best value. I just installed a nordic, at almost twice the cost. The only benefit for me is that I can add the extended cap to squeeze an extra round in. The factory one is not bad but hardly worth the 100 bucks. The clamp that it comes with will mar the finish too...

Fabulous to hear, I try and always stay stock with stuff or OEM but it sounds like wilson is the mecgar of quite a few accessories out there. That said where is it reasonably priced?

Yea alot of people kept telling me to go with plus 2, but I like not having the tube all the way up to the tip of the barrel, no clue why, just I'm stubborn I guess, and I get one more shell, its nice.

The Remington is nowhere near 100.00$, more around60.00$. The Wilson +1 or +2 (they are the same price) can be had any day for 50.00$ on many sites including Wilsons own site..

The Wilson extension is everything and better than the Vang Comp is and a third less. I have a Wilson 1+ on my HD 870. I like the simitry of six in the gun and six in the sidesaddle and the sling swivel is in the front of the tube. I had ordered the Remington +2 at the same time. Returned the Remington, the quality was poor and the barrel/tube clamp was cheap.

The Remington LE two shot parkerized extension is $113.00 from Remington or Brownells. The matte finish is $88. So you were close. Many of the ones being sold out there have a barrel bracket that does not have a QD stud. That bracket alone is $12 less then the bracket that does have the QD stud. Keep this in mind when pricing them. Also, the Remington tubes are on the way out. They will continue to offer then for a few years but once they convert to the extended mag tubes on HD and Tactical Models that will be it for the LE extension kits.
