What to buy for an SLP?

I pick up my SLP tomorrow after work and wanted to know if there are any "Must haves" for this shotgun?

So far the only thing I have is about 1000 rounds of various ammo to test out what cycles best. I plan on buying a Nordic bolt handle, but want to know if there is anything else I should be looking at.

    Thoughts?

If you are going to use this for 3 Gun, I would send the trigger group to C-Rums to have the lifter welded up and trigger lightened up and a larger safety put on.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

and,,,trim the aft end of the forend, cut a few coils out of the mag tube spring, (don't go crazy) bevel the loading port. Mine likes to be run wet, and clean it good after EVERY session. Just use the light piston, It will run fine. You will more than likely run into the round not chambering at some point. This seems to be a common issue. The leading edge of the round will be hitting the 3 O'clock edge of the chamber. You need to get in there with some 220 and finer emory cloth and polish that area. No Dremels required.

Have fun and shoot the crap out of it

What about chokes? Not really sure if I need anything in particular aside from what is included.

I plan on trying some 3 gun someday, as well as killing lots of paper and steel plates. It wasn't really designed to shoot clays, but I guess I could do it just for the hell of it.

Everything 3GFS and PRC said! You will experience less problems with Remington Sport Loads vs Federal birdshot due to inconsistent crimp.
For chokes, you can run the factory ones except you'll need to carry around the tool. Or you could order a set of Briley extended invector chokes so no tool needed. The most used chokes are Cylinder, IC, LM and Modified.

what Superset said about the chokes, IC stays in mine most of the time. The extended are just so much faster to change out when needed. You can shoot clays all day long with the SLP. BTW I have a SLPMK1.

One of the guys last weekend had a Mod. choke in his M2 and was just smoke'n the steel plates, impressive.

i run briley light mod for most 3 gun matches.

i have never had a FTF or malfunction of any kind with any ammo. and ive shot it all, remington, winchester, federal, s&b, wolf, etc... bird buck and slugs.

if you want some tactical type stuff i got a used mesa tactical sidesaddle and a BNIB fnh railed mag tube i'd be willing to sell you. send me a PM if interested.

How is the lifter weld? I have heard some people have issues because the prongs were to help guide the shell into the chamber.

If there are no issues (or depending on how bad I chew up my thumb) I may have to go with that.
