I'm going to get a Kickeez recoil pad to replace the factory pad on my O/U but I have a question... on their website are 19 different templates, and I found the one that most matches the shape of the pad on my gun. since it's obvious it won't be exactly the same shape, I assume I will have to shape it? is this a fairly simple process? I'd like to hear from someone who's done it as to how much work it is. thanks for the info!

Kickeez recoil pad fitment question

Kickeez is not that much different from any other aftermarket pad. If it's "grind to fit" then freezing the pad a bit and shaping with a belt sander are your friends. Ideally you want the template for your specific gun. You may have to take a bit off the butt and square it up with a band saw or a table top sander, the pad with spacer can add a bit of length so if the gun already fits you well you may have to take a bit of wood to keep the finished project at the same length.
Here is a quick video that will give you an idea of what's involved.Last edited by BigDogatPlay; 03-16-2012, 9:16 AM.
