Go for the basic 8 round 500. That's what I use, so it must be best

Kinda hard to manipulate the safety on this with a pistol grip stock. I'd get the other.

I have nothing against Mossberg 500/590s btw. 870 vs 500/590 is really a personal choice. It's also the subject of many, many threads.

I'm aware of this. (Ford or Chevy) (did I say Chevy?) anyway, I kind of like the look of the pistol grip and it seems the safety on the Remington is near the trigger.

Anyway, I would have to drive 100 miles to get the tactical Mossberg, so might just go for the 8 shot. Or confuse myself again and get my gun buying list order jumbled again.

Yup. If you want a pistol grip stock, the 870 is a better choice because of the safety.

Yep and it is what I would buy. Wait a second, I think that I have one of those already. Oh, I remember, I do and it sits next to my bed. I like the Remington over the Mossberg. I am not saying the Mossberg is junk, I just have trained more with the 870.
