Benelli has a different serial number on the barrel then the reciver.

So I picked up my benelli today and noticed that my barrel has a completely different serial number on it than the reciver. Is this normal or some sort of mistake?

Rifle or shotgun? My R1 rifle has almost matching serial numbers. The only thing different is the first (leftmost) letter. Everything else is the same.

Same issue here. Didn't notice it until I did the transfer at my local FFL. He pointed it out, but made the point that the registration was the serial on the receiver and that was all that mattered.

Curious if anybody else has experienced this. To clarify my SHOTGUN was a supernova with pistol grip and ring sights(not sure if that's the tactical or not).

For pumps and semi-autos barrels are not normally fitted to the receivers - that's why you can buy an off the shelf replacement barrel for many of these guns. For the better O/U's and SXS's the serial numbers will match because the barrels are fitted to the receivers.
As another poster said the reciever sn is what matters. That is why if you sell a receiver without a barrel you have to go through an FFL.

Pretty typical. We have had a few benellis like that

As far as I remember, I don't think I've ever seen a Benelli with matching numbered barrels.
