    best choke for trap

What choke do you guys use for trap? I have a Benelli semi auto with a 30" barrel with extended choke tubes currently set up with improved modified.

I have numerous over unders, and theyre always set up with a skeet choke on the first tube and an IM choke on the second. so you should be fine with an IM choke.

I've been using a full on my Beretta AL390 (12g, 28").....also running a full on my AL391 Tekny's (12g, 28"). I need to experiment with the AL391 chokes though, as the bore diameter is different than my AL390....I have a feeling, I'll end up back at full

It helps to know what yardage your going to be shooting the most. That will give us an idea. IM is good for 16 to 20 yards. At 27 to 30 yards The full works best for me YMMV.

Some like shooting full for everything. The key is what yardage you are shooting. Are you shooting singles or doubles.

I do not the exact yards but I'm assuming its between 16 and 20. I shoot at Prado out in Chino.

IM or Modified will get you through most yardages unless you are all the way back. Shooting a full choke makes for impressive breaks and many shoot full chokes during practice to improve their precision.

I always shoot full. But I can't change my chokes either.

I run full choke for the 16 on back, although I do run a mod for doubles- like the others mentioned- if you're shooting from the 16 mod and imp mod are fine

Improved Modified for me from 16 to 22 yards. Beyond that, Full. Doubles with the O/U Modified on the bottom barrel, Improved Modified or Full on the top depending a bit on the conditions.

The really good guys I shoot with all run full for everything, but I am not that good.... not yet anyway.

                        ^^^^this.

I shoot informally from the 16 and modified is plenty of choke with 1oz to 1-1/8 oz loads.

                          OP,
I run modified from the 16 yard line and I do ok, though I also shoot ducks and dove with Mod so I have a pretty good feel for what Mod does for me.

WHen I get a double it will probably be Mod and full.

It Really depends on how quick you get on the birds (hand/eye) seems the younger guys like Modified & the More Advanced (Years) use Full... Me, I probably need X-Full...
