Some may remember I was on a hunt to get a reasonable O/U for my wife, who had through one visit to a sporting clays facility turned from "eek, guns" to "ooh, can we have one?" and was unreasonably intimidated by my Mossberg 590.
After looking for a while for a Browning Citori for a reasonable price, and waiting for a nearby clinic, I decided that getting something she was OK quicker would be better than waiting indefinitely until we found something perfect.
So as a result we went by Big-5 today and finally purchased the Maverick O/U (28", screw-in chokes, black, no fancy engraving). She fell in love with it on first shouldering, and felt very comfortable with it.
This is my Valentine's Day present to her. This being her Valentine's Day present was her idea, by the way, not mine
I think I'll keep her.
So about two weekends from now we'll go sporting clays again and break the shotgun in. Should be fun. And at $329, if she really does become addicted, I'm happy to have this be my O/U and get her something noticeably fancier later.
