    Stock Refinishing

    Hey all,
    i have a few shotguns that have some nicks and scratches in the wood from usual wear and tear. does anyone know of a company that can refinish the stock and make it look like new?

    you can do it pretty easily. Sandpaper, finer sandpaper, finer sandpaper, fine sandpaper, apply finish, polish. really, you can do a great job with just a little time.

      Stock refinishing can be diy job. Deeper dents can be steamed out with a steam iron and wet towel. Birchwood Casey and others sell a kit just devoted to refinishing stocks.

        None of them are cheap, but all are very good.

          Any wood working shop can refinish your stock. Look in your phone book under cabinet shops. You could also do it yourself. Dings are taken out by putting a few drops of water on the ding and letting the wood swell.

          I refinished my own stock. I first removed the varnish with Berryman B-12 carb cleaner, then I sanded the stock and sprayed it with Varathane.
