    Swivel stud for mossberg 500?

I have a 500 with a magazine cap that has a hole in the center.
Is this what I should buy to thread into the hole, or do I need a whole new magazine cap?

You need the machine screw stud (#10-32). You will have no use for the wood screw stud.

You can pick these up at your local gun store.

Does the magazine tube go all the way out to the end of the barrel? If so, Id pick up a different type of mount. First time I went clay shooting, I ended up shooting off the sling mount.

The barrel is longer than the magazine tube.

I am looking into one of the GGG plates for attaching the sling. Felt it would be more secure than screwing into the cap. I have nothing to base my thoughts on other than preference.

Good idea. I plan on picking one up from either them, or one of the types that clamps between the mag tube and the barrel that has a swivel loop on it.
