    Mossberg FLEX system

Pretty interesting modular system to swap out the fore-ends and stocks. But I don't ever see myself needing to swap out so much that I need a system to help me do it.

Should be quicker and easier but,I don't know if it will stand up under hard use with heavy loads.

I hope I'm wrong on that but It's too new at the moment, and I haven't seen much in the way of product testing.

Like anything new there are bound to be bugs somewhere that haven't been found yet.

    Time will tell.
It isn't the size of your hallway howitzer,it's how you use it.

Not sure about this one. Seems like a solution to a problem that may or may not exist. And the article reads like a Mossberg marketing flier.

Need to see one in person.

Interesting. Only real benefit I see, is for those who like to run a pistol-gripped stock.
Makes detaching the stock, clean the shotgun a lot quicker.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I have no problem taking my 500 with a persuader forend hunting. And my roommate has no problem using his camo'd 500 with a hunting forend for HD.

Changing the barrel on a mossberg is already fast enough. I saw a video on this when going through SHOT show coverage on youtube and just shrugged. The forend isn't a big deal, and I only see a benefit to changing the stock if you really want a traditional stock for hunting and PG only for HD, and you happen to be a new buyer who doesn't already own a shotgun.

Plus, since changing the stock is a matter of a couple of screws, who cares? It's not like you're pressed for time when going on a hunting trip that the 5 minutes it would normally take to swap the stock is an issue, and just change it back when you get home. Seems like a solution looking for a problem.
