    Shell pouch, shell bag options.

    Hi,
I've been shooting trap/skeet for the last year with shells stuffed into my pockets and I'm tired of it. I just bought a shell reloader and would like to save the hulls for reloading, so I've been shopping for a shell pouch. I went to the Costa Mesa gun show this past Sunday and didn't see a single shell pouch. I've been eyeing this one from my online shopping: http://www.browning.com/products/cat...id=44242A&bg=x

I'd like the pouch to be able to hold unfired shells as well as empty hulls. What do you guys recommend? What do you use and what do you like/dislike about it?

    All input is greatly appreciated.

A few weeks ago, I was looking at various "Bob Allen" shell holders that can be had cheaper than that Browning but they won't be as nice:

I, personally, was looking for more function than fashion on this one.

Hey Javi, the Duplex shell pouch like it might do for me. Do you know of any stores that carry them not too far from Orange County?

Bass Pro shop carries some Browning shell pouches as well as their own brand pouches. You'll have more options buying it online like at Cabelas, Mosquito Creek, Nica Shooting, etc.

Thanks, WReXD. I had never heard of Mosquito Creek or Nica Shooting before.

Ah, I'm not too sure. I don't recall seeing one at Ammo Bros. and I haven't looked inside Turner's for one(I think they'd be more likely to carry something like this). Maybe call Triple B's pro shop to see if they carry them. I was going to order online straight from them, Cabelas or Midway.

I prefer a vest over a shell bag for a couple of reasons. I find that even in divided bags I tend to get shells mixed up. Clays vests have big front pockets. I put empties on one side, and can easy dump more than a box in the other. The other advantage of a vest is that you can have an sew-in or slip-in shoulder pad that can make shooting a lot more comfortable.

I have a Browning (albiet a discontinued one) vest that I like quite a bit. On the other hand, they're more expensive than a basic nylon bag, I'm sure you can fine one on-par to the spiffy Browning bag you linked (maybe even cheaper if you can catch it on sale or last year's style on closeout).

I bought a cheap one at Walmart. It is a double pouch plus a mesh net pouch for empties.

                Winchester Shell Bag

That is the one I bought and there was no shipping because they carry it in store.

if you have a Big 5 in your area, they usually 2-3 options at very good prices. I bought a Remington shell pouch (which is really a Bob Allen) for 17.00 there. Similar to this-

plus 1 to Bob Allen products - I've been using this Bob Allen pouch for almost a year now - While I have read some negative reviews, I've had no issue with the quality of mine - basic, no frills, does the job well.

Thanks for all the input. I'm leaning towards the Bob Allen pouches now.

naimad, Amazon sells the Santa Fe pouch for the same price as Ebay and Amazon has a better return policy.

There's a good chance that I'll be in Texas for a weekend at the end of this month. I'll probably buy one there so that I can try them on.

Hmm I'm cheap. I just use my Condor Tactical dump pouch. Holds up well with I use my war belt.
