need more input... If you're hauling it through the woods.... 2 point if your plan is clearing houses..... single point.... if you just cant make up your mind and its an 870, Magpul MS3 and the Magpul mounts, and you can bounce between the two of them.

You are not going to be clearing houses and you don't want a shotgun hanging between your legs, so just buy a two-point sling (and, not a three-point if you are using a pump gun. Take a look at the Vickers, my current favorite.http://www.blueforcegear.com/vickers...cations-sling/

Depends on what are are doing. 3 point is typically not a good idea for any shotgun. Too much manipulation of the loading gate and off and on the grip so the 3 point gets in the way. Too much potential to snag on something when the time is wrong. Hunting or going through the woods, 2 point is ideal. I personally don't like slings on shotguns. As stated I don't clear houses and transition to my pistol but a single point would probably be best for nearly any cqb situation. It's biggest advantage is to allow you to transition shoulders easily unlike the others and still allows you to transition to a pistol though not gracefully. Watch the family jewels... and the shotgun will want to swing a lot if you move around... Definately not it's strong point. You can always get one of the convertible slings similar to the magpul but check what front sling stud you have because the magpul snaps may not be best suited for your shotgun... Especially since most shotguns have the sling stud on the bottom which will force the shotgun to flip upside down.

Single point bad with longer barrels.

Family Jewels no likey single point!

Really though, It matters what you are using it for. Personally, Im a big fan of the longer two point, to wear it hangs just above your waist. Granted, I do have a single point, but its for my soon to be SBR'd Draco pistol. With that, if I drop it to go to pistol/use hands, Im not hitting myself in the junk.

+1, I've had all manner of slings on many different long guns and wound up with a single point on my LAR-9...16" barrels and single point slings are not the best combo

I just put my Spec Ops Mamba on my Saiga in a 2 point configuration and it's working for me pretty well.

I make a bracket and added a single point

Blackhawk to my tactical 870. Then I got a couple of QD swivels out of my junk box and made some adapters so I can convert it to 2 point.

I have shot a lot of 3 gun matches and the slings always seem to fowl while moving aggressively.

So the sling, though it works great, will stay in the gun bag, until needed for mobile readiness.

I may switch the mash slip to an HK, so I can connect/disconnect more quickly.

gives a good overview of the pros and cons.

I like two point slings. The trick is, if you want to do some fancy ninja stuff, you just put your head through the sling, not your head and arm. Then you have a lot of freedom of movement. If you're just carrying the gun, for extra comfort you can put your arm through too.

In this video, the two point sling guy has the sling just around his neck:
