Cool beans. I have install dozens of the flex tab conversions kits and have never had an issue so I was very curious to find out what was up with this one.

I took a weapon in and for the life of me could not determine the issue. I gave up and went inside to eat and catch the news. Came back out the shop and looked right at the trigger plate assemble and noticed the tip of the carrier dog was broken off. Missed that the first 100 times I looked at the dang thing. Sometimes you just gotta walk away and come back with a clean mind (well mine is never clean, but you know what I mean(.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

I just did the whole thing up. The entire flexitab conversion kit and the new style action tube with the extra cutout for the newer bolt carrier. It all works, just a little stiff though. Once you get it through the rough spot it feeds right into the chamber. Like I said, hopefully with time it will smooth itself out. But for the time being..Rack it like you got a pair!

Y'all please forgive a new guy for dragging up an old topic, but I found Calguns by looking for info on this same problem....

I bought a used 20-gauge 870 Wingmaster and it's doing the "jam the shell into the top of the receiver/barrel interface". It's coming up high and hard enough that a 20-ga shell is very forceably pinched in there. Some Googling got me to this thread.

May I ask the original participants if there was ever a conclusion on whether the whole flexitab conversion was really necessary to solve this pinching problem, or if just the carrier assembly (like Midway's off-the-shelf) is enough? Anybody ever measure any dimensional problems? Or was there any further learnings? I'd (obviously) prefer to spend as little as possible on parts.

        Thanks.
