I have one of the 7 shot Express that I picked up a while ago for home defence gun. When I got it, I did the whole clean the crap out of the barrel and chamber thing, put a few rounds threw it, and put it away. I was going out to BLM land so I figured I would put a few hundred rounds through it. I was using AA's, and the shells were just dribbling out of the gun. They were not sticking, or hard to eject, they were just barely clearing the gun. A couple failed to clear the gun, and the back got caught in the action upon closing. Once in a while a shell would actualy fly a few feet. The ejector and extractor seem fine. They dont look out of the ordinary compared to the Wingmaster I have. The extractor moves freely, and the ejector does not seem to be bent or broken. Any ideas?

Use force when pumping it, and don't tilt the gun where the ejection port might be facing up. You might want to try a different brand ammo as well. I got an 870 that loves when I feed it Federal ammo and hates when I feed it Winchester.

Come on man, I'm not that stupid.
It does not matter how hard I rack it. I tried everything from moderate force to ramming the slide with ridiculous force, same thing. I am not tilting the gun. I will try some different ammo, but I've never had a problem with AA's. I don't use the Universals, those things are garbage. I have a Wingmaster I've used for years that throws the shells a few feet no problem. It's still under warranty, and long guns can go ground, so if nothing else works, I'm just going to send it back to Remington.

Mine was real tight and wouldn't throw the shells for the first 200rounds, now they sail just fine. Watch a little tv and just work the action it's still new.Originally posted by fighterpilot562I am more of a sucker than a blower...Comment

I have nothing to do today, so I will put a few more hundred rounds through it and see what happens.Comment

OK, I put another 300 rounds through it (ouch), and after 100 rounds or so the ejection improved. It started ejecting the shells a few feet instead of a few inches. Not sure how that works exactly, but at least I don't have to send it back.Comment

It's a common problem with different types of finishes, especially a phosphate/parkerizing finish. It adds to the thickness of the machined parts and takes up the tolerances for smooth operation, till the parts wear in they are tighter than optimal.Originally posted by fighterpilot562I am more of a sucker than a blower...Comment
