870 Express with AIP Tactical revamp

I had this 870 Express that was covered in rust and really needed to be refinished and tweaked back into service. I called up AIP tactical to arrange for them to revamp my shotgun and I spoke with JD about how bone-headed some calgunners are (no surprise there) and other silly shenanigans his clients have pulled. I found JD to be very honest and professional (funny too) in his dealings and so we I sent off the 870 to him a day later. He parkerized it, added a mesa tactical 6 round side saddle and upgraded it with the guts of the 870 police. It was about a week turnaround time total as I picked up the shotgun earlier today. I only shot about 50 rounds of federal birdshot and 20 rounds of federal rifled slugs all of which performed perfectly. If you happen to need an old 870 refinished or even if you need to BUY an 870, make sure you hit up AIP tactical's website first to see what you could have as opposed to buying one and then having to send it into AIP anyway.

I have dealt with J.D. McGuire of AI&P tactical and have always found him to be extremely competent, knowledgeable, and honest. He will actually try to talk you out of purchasing what you don't need, even if it means a lesser sale for him! I recently purchased a gun from him and could not be happier. If you want to purchase an 870 (that is the only platform he builds), J.D. is your guy.

Thanks for that link to AIP Tactical. Been looking around for someone with barrels setup just like that!

that is one nice looking shotgun; looks like "all business" with additions that i personally find to be... all business.

            That's a standard Remington rifled-sighted barrel.

Very nice looking rig, can only imagine how bad it must have been before, but as they say "It cleans up nice". Btw, any chance that shotgun lived it's previous life up North in the hands of some LEO's, looks like the same setup, down to the SureFire light and SF buttcapp, Anyways, Happy Hunting...

Calguns folks are not the issue its people in general. I run into morons all day long who know nothing about Calguns. I think when a forum gets as large as Calguns its only a matter of time before the douche bags infiltrate in considerable numbers. Your 870 Looks great BTW !
