    Tapping a Stoeger 2000 with Aimpoint 9000SC

I bought an Aimpoint 9000 SC to mount on my Stoeger. Has anyone had experience with this? Should my gunsmith know where to tap it? I never used an aimpoint and don't know how far it should sit relative to my eye. Should it be tapped on the receiver or the barrel? Thanks

Is the Stoeger a semi-automatic or a pump? If so, you want to drill and tap the receiver since it isn't exposed to the pressure that the chamber and barrel(s) are.

You should avoid tapping shotguns chambers and barrels because the metal is thin in comparison to their bore size, unless you have a raised rib where you have more metal to work with.

(Front beads on shotgun barrels aren't as critical because the pressure is so much less there due to the expansion of the gases through the length of the barrel.)

I don't know of any. You might contact the Stoeger distributor and ask them for recommendations.
