Just bought a Benelli M1S90 - What now?

So, I figured it was time to upgrade and I couldn't pass up the price.

Is there anything I "should" upgrade immediately? I would like to increase amount of rounds in the mag tube, but factory benelli tubes are EXPENSIVE!!

    Options???

Go with the factory one. There was one just sold for $100.

    Other stuff:

    Tactical sling
Ghost ring sights if you like them
    oversize bolt knob
    oversized bolt release (GG&G)
    Surefire flashlight
Pistol grip stock or straight stock
    etc.

You can mod the bolt carrier to let you load out of battery and hold an extra round on the carrier. Older Benellis will carry one on the carrier already. Weld up the shell lifter stick on a DMW mag tube and you are good to go.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

The only "immediate" accesory I would get (change out) is replacing the stock recoil pad with a Limbsaver. Configuration and upgrades will depend on what kind of shooting you intend to do. A DMW or Nordic mag tube extension is a better buy than the factory one (IMHO).

            Thanks all!

This will be my replacement for the mossy 590A1 in my safe.

RP - I would love to install ghost rings, but I didn't see anyplace to install them. This M1S90 is not the tactical version and doesn't have the pict rail.

Randy - Thanks, I'll look into the DMW tube. Not sure I want to weld anything just yet...

Fatcat - Limbsaver for sure! I have a knoxx on my 590A1 and my shoulder loves me for it.

YSR - You can bet I'll be tossing rounds through it shortly... 5 more days and counting...

Depending on what kind of shooting you're planning on doing with it, send it to either Benny Hill (TX) or Rob Melhorn (CA) to get worked over.

Recoil isn't sooo bad, so be hesitant on adding any dampening to the shotgun. Benelli's need the recoil to run. Other than that, you're good to go almost stock. I'd have the loading gate welded up to save your thumb some heartache too.

You will love the M1. I have an old H&K marked M1 tactical with ghost ring sights. It came from the factory with the extended mag tube and pistol grip stock. Hasnt jammed yet. Works well with all sorts of ammo. Very fast and very light and recoil isnt that bad. The only thing I want to add is the surefire forend. And Benelli has great customer service so if you need a part replaced they are great. I just lost my rear ghost ring sight at the last panoche shoot and they shipped me a new one for free and my shotgun is almost 14yrs old per the Benelli customer service agent..

                      I just bought one too.

I'm still confused though a little bit.

The M1 Tactical comes with I believe a 5+1 capacity. I've been looking around for a mag extension but here is where the confusion is. Since my barrel is 18.5", do I need a 2 or 4 shot extension (benelli) or a 7 shot from DMS to match in lenght to my barrel ?

                      Anyone ?
