The Browning A5 is BACK!!!!!

So I grew up hunting with an old Auto 5. I called it old Cha Ching because of it sound it made when cycling. I remember taking the shotgun out every year for the first grouse hunting and having to kick the bolt open because of rust but she never failed. I can't wait to by one and bring back my boyhood memories.

sounds like the ak 47 of shotguns. lol. too bad saiga stole that one... but i really like the looks of that a5. first shotgun i have felt the NEED to buy other than a Handi rifle or Eaa corp single shot.

I've got one my grandfather gave me from the 60's I think. It has seen it's better days, but still functions like a champ. May have to pick up a new one, just for grins.

Not quite the A-5 .......maybe a B-80, 2000 or A500. Anybody know if its the same action as the old a5.

I don't know if the A500 has the same type of action as the A5; it certainly doesn't have the SAME action.

Somebody mentioned "tactical" A5s. The only military use I ever heard of was the Australian military (Army and SAS) using them in their post WWII anti-insurgency war in Malaya, and then later in Vietnam. I think that the Brits also used them in the Mau Mau ruckus in Kenya; not sure if those were military or police issue.

These were a special unengraved military version sold directly by FN, not thru their Browning brand here in the US. They had 20" barrels and uncheckered stocks with matte finish (possibly parkerized; I couldn't tell thru the glass case where I saw one in a museum) metal. A nasty close-quarters weapon, for sure.

Copies of the A5, the Rem Mod 11, were used at least thru VN by the US Navy and Marines.

Saw it i one of the magazines.I think MSRP was around $1400.00.
