    Add picatinny rail

Anyone add a picatinny rail to their 870? How does it look? I do not have the hole drilled and tapped and I'm looking for an alternative.

What kind of sights are on your gun? If only a bead, you may have a problem. If so, you could add an XS Big Dot over the existing bead, which would probably work. http://www.xssights.com/index.php?nI...ts&sID=shotgun

I use GR sights and added a 5 1/2" Mesa rail, very low profile, and had no sighting issues. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2...PICATINNY-RAIL

If you really think you need one, the Mesa 5.5 inch, as noted above, is an excellent solution.

The gun pictured above looks really cool.... and there is no way I'd carry it into a fight. VFG have a bad habit of putting torque on the operating rods. If those get bent even slightly out of shape, the gun may not run when you need it to. Then there is all that extra weight that isn't really doing anything.

Simpler is better, at least the way I think about a fighting shotgun.
