Recently purchased a new 28" replacement barrel for my 11-87 12g. The old barrel had suffered from some poor home "gunsmithing" on my part. I tried to replace the front bead-thought the threads were stuck and drilled it out. It turns out that it was a press-in style. Let that be a lesson to me and you
.
So, I decided to simply replace the barrel with a new factory replacement.
After I receive the new barrel, I install it and take it to the range. No go. It does not fire. Firing pin does not touch the primer. I go home and totally tear it down. The firing pin is not broken, spring works, the firing pin moves within the bolt and protrudes correctly past the bolt face. What am i missing? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
