HD ammo for shotguns

Hey all,
So i just picked up a remington 870 for HD and im wondering what kind of ammo you guys would recommend for it. it has an 8 shot capacity so i was thinking of loading it with different rounds, but im not sure yet. any suggestions??

00 Buckshot. Pick any type that says either home or personal defense. Shoot a couple of boxes to make sure your gun likes it before commiting to it as your HD weapon.

Remember that training is way more important than the ammo brand. Shoot lots of the cheap stuff. Load and unload it numerous times. Practice what to do in case of a malfunction. You won't have time to figure your gun out if you find yourself in need of it.

buckshot of your choice. 00, #1 and #4 are popular options.

low recoil Federal is a nice choice to make follow up shots faster - and it might penetrate one less piece of drywall

It's a low recoil 00 buck with flite-control
have very tight grouping in home defense range and easy for follow up shots.

I've heard flight controls can actually throw a ball or two out. I haven't shot a shotgun with flight control shells though so...

Great choice for HD duties.

2 3/4", '00' buckshot, and unless you are defending yourself from across the street, just buy the brand you can afford the most of (my local Walmart has Winchester 15 rd packs for $11, I have a dozen extra boxes now).

Load up, and shoot her until you know where the pellets go.

I go with 00buck with the last two rounds in the tube being slugs, I also have a holder with extra buck shot. If I have to go to loading extra rounds all hell will have broken out and I would be thinking of a exit plan at that point. Just my 2 cents
