Mossberg500/M88 safety

Hello and happy new years to you guys and gals.was wondering if the trigger group was interchangeable between M500 and M88.started running pistol griped butt stock and the tang safety isn't as easy to get to as a cross bolt safety. can i do this or should i just live with it cause tang safety with PG butt stock isnt that bad just a training issue in my opinion.

From what I have read the trigger groups are not interchangeable. But most of the other parts are.
