    Remington 887 Tactical

I shot my friend's remington 887 tactical shotgun and loved it. I'm thinking about getting one myself. Just want to ask you guys what you think about it.

One of the most badass looking shotguns in stock form, but unless you absolutely love abusing yourself with 3.5" magnum loads, it doesn't really offer anything more than the standard 870. If you like it, then get it - in my mind there is no such thing as too many shotguns.

The 887 was released by Remington as a sporting model to compete with the Nova. It bombed as it got horrible reviews. Sales were dead. So Remington said, let's put a bunch of tacti-fool mess on it cause those guys will buy anything. Thus was born that piece of crap you are asking about.

Forget it. Go get an 870 or 500.

I have one and it works fine so far. I have about 250 rounds of birdshots and buckshots through it. It hands really nice when I was in the store comparing it to a 590A1. I was well aware of the earlier model having some issues, but this happens to any manufacturers. Ruger SR9 and M&P9 has some issues when they were first released. I think Remington worked out the kinks on the M887.

I have one - no problems.

I was leery at first because of some bad reviews - but there were/are lots of good reviews as well... I really like it.

I guess it's a love/hate thing. The one thing I noticed is that not many (if any) of the negative reviews are from people that actually have one.

It's primary advantage over the 870 is that it can fire 3 1/2" shells. It is a cool looking shotgun.

This guy's got one for sale "brand new never fired", asking $420:

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
