    Mossberg 930 ?

So I recently came across a moss 930 not the spx just straight stock and tactical barrel.

My question after reading online on other sites it seems that it has it's own issues. So that said how many of you own one and does the good out weigh the bad if yours has had any issues.

This is my first semi shotgun and I know there are higher end guns but for the price it seemed right.

And like always thanks for your guys input.

if you can get passed some cheap plastic and a few wobbles here and there they have been pretty bullet proof.

All semiauto shotguns have issues, even the legendary M4
WTB: Marlin 989 M2 stock (uncracked), and 989 M2 rifles
      Thanks

What issues did you read about? I think they have a pretty good reputation so far. Mine has been great! I've got the combo model that came with 2 barrels and I added a mag tube extension for guard duty. I got mine for $500ish IIRC which was money well spent. No problems, shoots bird to buck no sweat.

I especially love it's Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde personality.

They seem to be great shotguns, lot of 3 gunners are trying them out.
On Brian Enos forum, there is 35 pages just on the 930.

I haven't had too many issues with mine. Last trip out it spit an unfited shell out. No jam, etc it was probably operator error. I just didn't push the shell in all the way. Mine eats cheap WalMart #7 shot and buckshot no problems. I added a Mesa tactical shell holder, an oversize safety, stainless follower, and oversize charging handle.

For home defense IMO nothing beats a pump. I've shot 930 SPX, M4, and Rem 1100. For home defense, I'd choose the M4. I haven't found the 930 SPX to be as reliable. Since I prefer a pump for HD, I didn't spend much time to see if I could get the 930 to be as reliable as I found the M4 to be. For clay sports I really liked the Rem 1100. Having said that, I'd prefer a double barrel for trap. Overall, I'd prefer a pump as a general shotgun. Two nights ago while staying at a motel, I had a bump in the night that concerned me enough to chamber a round in my 45 pistol. Turned out to be the wind blowing around the do not disturb sign. For a long time I wished for a pump shotgun (which will now travel with me). I had no interest in a semi autoshotgun or semi auto rifle. Again, all my two cents.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.

I have the 28" barrel Moss 930. After a complete disassemble and cleaning of all the oils when I first got it and relubed its been 100%. I've put through about 600-700 rounds of walmart birdshot loads through it shooting clays. My 930 feels solid as a rock.

I'm looking at get a 18" barrel for slugs and buckshot training.

Earlier this year I was awoken by the sound of breaking glass in my bedroom. I un-locked my gun safe, thought for a moment and grabbed the cheapest gun in my collection, a Maverick 88 12 gauge pump shotgun to investigate. Turned out to be some crackhead passerby threw an apple through my window. WTF?!

I do want a 930SPX for a range toy, the price and specs are very attractive!
