Electronic Earmuff Recommendations For Use With Shotguns?

Does anyone use electronic earmuffs with shotguns that doesn't interefere with cheek weld?

I have these but it gets in the way of the stock:
Howard Leight R-01526 Impact Sport Electronic Earmuff

Anyone try these or have any other recommendations?

If you look at the noise reduction values of various plugs, muffs etc, the disposable foam ones are as good as anything else and better than many.

For rifle and pistols, I use both (Peltor muffs + foam plugs) because it is a more intense report. For shotguns, just foam plugs.

I've been using the plugs but like with how the electronic earmuffs, you can hear people talking MUCH easier.

Maybe I'm kinda deaf or used to my electronic ones but I find myself unplugging a foam ear when I talk with people often.

This. Electronic ear muffs are good for instruction or when you need to hear someone talk, only. Otherwise the noise reduction value isn't all that great, and you're better off with a set of foamies and muff for indoor. Outdoor one or the other is fine.

Electronic earmuffs seem a bit gimmicky to me. I'm not keen on anything that features add-on features like FM radio or external jacks for plugging in an iPod. I've seen folks with those units that have missed multiple RSO instructions and the NRR ratings (despite the price) tend to be less than high quality ear plugs and a lot less than ear plugs with passive ear muffs. You can buy passive systems with an NRR of 33dB. The best electronic set costing over $200 was about 25dB. There are several units that wrap around the back of the head, are more compact and with low impulse shells in an outdoor range, you might even find good in-ear plugs in the 33dB range alone might be good enough.
