    lead fouling

I shot a lot of slugs today and I cleaned the barrel right after I got home, I'm having a hard time getting some lead out of the barrel. I use hoppes no. 9 for the bore.

I have never used any chemicals in a smooth bore barrel, no need to.

Go to www.aiptactical.com and click on the red link "install and cleaning". Make a cleaning polishing rod like on that page and run it through the barrel dry. All that mess is gone and the bore looks like a mirror. End of issue.

I used to get some bad lead fouling on my Mossberg 930 spx, specially in the first 5 inches of the bore. I would wrap some fine steel wool around my bore bush and hit the fouled area a few times. 10-30 strokes later and my bore was 100% clean. Just watch what you do it over because there will be some lead dust all over the floor. It works great everytime!

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟
