Sidesaddle with Rem 870 LE Folder

Just curious, I'm not sure if I want to do this yet. Does anyone know what Mesa sidesaddle will fit with a Factory LE topfolder? I called Mesa and they didn't know. Seems I have seen alot of police bikes with one in a rack. I might just call Mark Otto on this project.

    TIA

870 won't run the side saddles unless you do some trimming to the forearm I was told. That's a stock 870 or Hawk 982...Rack the slide back and see where the forearm ends when full in the rear. The Side-saddles use the reciever pins if I' am not mistaken so you can see if one will fit or not pretty easily.

It will work, but you have to use almost 3mm spacers behind your sidesaddle for the stock to completely collapse. By doing this, you place much more stress on the mesa tactical provided anti walk pins. The screws used on the pins are pretty short so your going to have almost no thread in the pin tube, which means you'll have to hunt around for some longer screws (hopefully nothing that'll completely scar the finish.)

The best advice I can give would be to go the jurassic park route and have the saddle welded to your folding stock.

This is true for "sporting" fore ends. Any aftermarket fore end that is advertised as "tactical" or "police" will not have that issue. All of the OEM fore ends from Remington that are out on the Police or tactical models will also not crash into up to a six shot side saddle. More shells than that might present an issue.
