Remington tactical barrell question

Can I throw a 28 vent rib barrell on one of the 870 tactical shotguns that have 7 round capacity or do I need to do some mods? Kinda wanted one for home defense/coyote/turkey but wanted to be able to throw a longer barrell on for birds. I know it will fit but does the magazine extension get in the way?

You can put it right on there. Just check the capacity for hunting in your state and be aware Federal law for migratory birds is a three round capacity if you go after ducks or geese. If you have to go back for a four shot tube leave the extension off, get a four shot spring and magazine cap and use those. To keep the magazine cap in place use a small drop of blue loc-tight or go to www.brownells.com and enter "Wave Washer" in the search block. That will bring you to a three pack of wave washers and these will work on any Remington shotgun. Install the barrel, the wave washer over the mag tube, the follwer and spring and then the magazine cap. Your done.
