Sling For 870

I was at a training class this past weekend and I'm now looking to upgrade my standard 2 point sling. The Wilderness Tactical model

looks interesting but I would rather have one that mounts to the existing rear swivel as opposed to a "butt cuff" type of rear mount.

Looking for suggestions and am not locked into a particular model. What I am looking for is the ability to drop the 870 and transition to handgun.

Look at the Boonie Packer tactical slings. Robust, cheap, and REALLY well made. Great company out of oregon that will take care of you if you ever have an issue.



This is the one I use a lot. I run it on all my AR's and 870.

I like the Blue Force Gear Vickers sling on the 870 because there is no dangling “tail”. Use an uncle mikes sling lock on the rear, and a vertical sling adapter on the mag tube for the front. I did try the a butt-stock adapter on the rear but although it hangs nice it’s a shoulder killer especially with slugs.

EDIT: for transition shooting I would not use the uncle mikes sling lock on the rear. For me it doesn’t hang right. I’d put up with the butt stock adaptor with a top mount and shoot lighter loads.

I stick with basic, adjustable 2 points. All these goofy ones with 10 adjustment points and quick moving blah blah blah just confuse me and tangle me up.

All I can say is wear a cup, or be sure to push that sucker out of the way if you are transitioning to handgun.

+1. Never really understood the single point fixation, especially ones that hang low When you gotta transition a full house 870 ain't something id want banging me in the nuts and knees on a run-n-gun.

I think with a sbr or Draco build,they are nice.nothing full-size

FWIW you should engage you selector into the safe position prior to any transition.

I like things simple... so a Blackhawk universal sling is on my 870. $7.49 from Midway. It doesn't hang super perfect from an understock swivel along with a vertical forward attachment point, so I'm going to add a GG&G stock adapter.
