    Rem. 870 shell lifter

Hey guys. On my new 870 express magnum, the shell lifter, although strong enough, doesn't lift the shells when the grip has been racked back. I notice that if I slightly move the lifter up until a light click, it will elevate the shell when I go to rack forward like a normal lifter does. I'm left with an unelevated shell each time I go to rack forward is my issue.

Also, while racking back, the last almost 2 inches becomes very difficult to pull back on. I will grant that this is a shotgun that has never been fired before, but I find the amount of authority to fully rack back ridiculous in this instance. I assume that this issue somewhat directly correlates with the previous one of bad elevating.

Some background story on it: I did change out the stock and grip before noticing these problems. Out of the box assembled, there were no issues whatsoever. I've attached photos of the problem-child grip, as well as a fully assembled profiles with the original and new grips. Any help is appreciated. Also, when I change the grips back to the original, the problem goes away.

Never put a vertical forend on a pump shotgun as it over torques the action bars and this twist and bends them and causes them to bind in the receiver after a time.

Get that tacti-fool mess off that 870 before you damage it worse. As for the carrier, it is fine, your forend is causing the issue. Put a normal forend on the weapon and see if the issue is resolved. If not then you may need a new forend tube assembly.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Long vertical forward grips on a pump shotgun, are never a good idea. The longer they are, the more leverage you have to torque it too far left or right. More than likely, bending the action bars and developing the issues you currently have. Sounds like the damage may already been done.

I had my shotgun like that, first shot with 12gauge slug and the forend broke off, happened with two other shotguns my buddies had. forend pistol grip is fine, you won't bend or mess up anything unless you hold on like hell. but most of the time you have a stock that takes most of the recoil.

Your problem is in the forend, I'd suggest you get one of these http://www.cabelas.com/shooting-gear...b-001b2166c2c0

I have one and shot over 200rd of rirfled slugs and a lot more number 8 birdshots without one hiccup.

            sawed off pistol grip,

Well there Yogi, what part of a vertical forends damage your weapon did you not pick up on?
