shotgun coating

Anyone know any gun shop to get my remington 870 coated in camo color. Prefer in bayarea/east bay.

Got my hunting certificate this year and its my third times went ducks hunting. I got tired of cleaning the rust(I know I should have got the camo shotgun)

Go to www.lauerweaponry.com. They make Dura coat. They list Certified Finishers by States. You will find one near you.

Gun shouldn't be rusting, just from being outdoors.

Hell, camo shotguns might be nice but, people have successfully hunted ducks without camo'd out shotguns for hundreds of years. I've NEVER used a camo'd gun for ducks and never had a problem with rust. Just properly take care of your gun and it won't rust on you.

the dip process will not prevent rusting. I would either have it Duracoated or Ceracoated.

They key to keeping the rust off is to wipe your shotgun off when you are done before putting it in a case, then when you get home clean it good and wipe down all the metal with a really light coating of remoil or something like that. I have seen mine start rusting before my eyes during a steady rain on some days, of course those are slow days where I'm staring straight ahead trying to keep dry.

The camo is nice but the biggest thing with ducks is if you can cut the glare off the wood stock or blued barrel. My shotgun is flat black.
