    Red-Dot Sight for Shotgun

I have a Shotty with a picatinny rail and want to add a tactical type scope or red-dot. I don't want anything too expensive but just something made strong enought for shotgun recoil that it won't shatter the glass. Any suggestions?

Do you plan on shooting lots of slugs at longer distances, or are you just going for the cool factor? If neither of those are the case, then you may be wasting money better spent on ammo or training.

Red dots that will last on a shotgun shooting defensive ammo are not going to be cheap. I'd be suspect of the NCStarunit in the link above, but thats just me. If you were looking for that type of sight I'd consider a Burris Fast Fire at minimum.

Yes, I plan on shooting a lot of slugs. And of course I do want to have the cool factor as well, LOL... But most important reliability. I was considering the Burris Fast Fire as an option.

Luepold. Trijicon. Aimpoint. I went with luepy cause i like the brand. A couple hundred rifled slugs over the two years its been on there and it still is zero'd at 50 yards.

Save your money. Mount a flashlight under the barrel. In a home defense situation, the distance won't be that much and the buckshot will hit where the lights beam is. The light will be easier to turn on in a stressful moment.
