    Looking for my first shotgun

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting. A buddy of mine at work got me into shooting and am now looking into buying my own shotgun, mostly for trap shooting. I've narrowed it to a few choices

    1) Weatherby PA 08 (really like the walnut)
    2) Remington 870 (Nothing but good reviews, not so keen on the laminate though)
    3) Remington 887 (Can handle 3 1/2 shells, not that I'll be using them for much else than saying I shot one lol)

Good to hear a new shooter onboard! Welcome.

Let's see; If we are going with those three choices, and solely on the fact that you'll be using it for mostly Trap, then I'd say Remington 870 Express. A Remington 870 will give you the ability to try your hand at just about anything shotgun related, as its simplicity, reliability and its versatility are almost unmatched. If you're willing to spend a little more, look into the 870 Wingmasters or Classic Trap models. If you would like to stay in the same price range as a new Express, but have somewhat nicer wood and finish, due dilligence and some searching will usually yield an older Wingmaster or TB/TC (Trap model, B grade, C grade wood respectively) in good condition and great price. Now, if you do purchase an Express, make sure to give it a good cleaning & lubing prior to taking it out for the first time, and give the finish a nice light coat of oil (which is good practice in general). Good luck, hope this helps.
