    price check

Just saw a Mossberg 500 ATP8 for sale locally. Used but not beaten up, rifle sights (factory?), wood stock, and a cheap side saddle but otherwise unmodified. They were asking $375 and that seemed high to me by at least $100 if not more. Am I correct or on crack?

I paid $175 for mine, great deal. I think $375 is way too high. $225-$275 would be a fair price
The ATP8 was replaced with the 590.

ATP8 could be had with rifle sights, so could well be factory. Nothing unusual about the configuration. I'd agree that $375 is way too high an ask. It'd have to have some kind of provenance (like an LEA marked issue gun) for me to get anyplace above maybe $225.

I bought my 500ATP (5 shot) lightly used for < $100 over 25 years ago. Still going strong today.

I've been looking for one ever since I passed up the 289.99 sale with the combo 18" open and 28" partial choke barrel

Guy at big 5 said "oh these go on sale every few weeks"

        That was 6 months ago..

Thanks guys. Too bad it was overpriced, I actually liked it enough to buy it (so did the wife) but the price was a deal killer for me.

It has to be a consignment and there is no rule you have to pay the sticker price. Make an offer, the worst that the seller can do is say no.
