870 Express Magnum Upgrades

Hi all, I received my order of Remington shotgun parts from Brownells today. I ordered a non-mim steel extractor, black carrier dog follower spring, and a red police sear. Because I was new at this, I watched aippi's d-i-y video which was very helpful. I took me an hour and a half from disassebly to assembly.

I now ready to tackle an oversize safety install and remove that J-lock that I have.

The J-lock has a plunger and shorter spring and you should not use them for the replacement safety.. You should use the safety detent ball and spring for the stock type safety or any after market over size you plan to install. So simply changing the safety without the correct parts is not a good idea.

The parts you need are 23223 and 17514. There is a J-lock replacement kit listed on Gun Broker that has the parts you need, or order them from Remington.
