Not Legal - Silencers - from what I hear in theory not impossible to get after wading through a ton of ATF paperwork, but impossible in practice.

JawBone, getting a suppressor is not that hard at all in a free state so long as you're an upstanding citizen. Most states have no issue with them. California on the other hand is the problem. You need CADOJ approval, which you will not get.

Incorrect. The British have only banned all handguns (1997), and semi-auto long rifles and pump action centerfire rifles (1988). Bolt action rifles and bolt handle charged (gas parts removed and permanently sealed) assault rifle-style (with hi-cap magazines if you want) AR / AK / FAL rifles are legal to a holder of a Firearms Certificate (FAC), as are pump action shotguns (2+1 capacity with a Shotgun License, and 4+1 with Firearms License).

Even Britain's Olympic shooters fall under this ban; as a result of this law, the British pistol shooting team must train outside the country.

I have a friend in England who works as a game keeper, and he is permitted to have a silencer on his CZ bolt action rifle in .22LR, which he uses to shoot rabbits and foxes with.

Cabellas actually has something like this....just a Long long long LONNNNNG choke tube thats about 4 FEET long...made for reducing recoil but it supposedly also reduces sound....or so they say. Dont know about you but a 8 ft shotgun is more than I care to use or carry
