    870 Rust is back

After marinating my 870 Express (receiver and barrel) in Eezox 2 years ago Rust has finally reappeared on the receiver.

Guess i'm gonna have to Pakerize/Duracote my SG in the near future.

Or let it Rust and get me a 590:-)

I have a similar problem with my 870 I keep for home defense. Every month, even if I don't shoot it, I take the gun apart, clean it, scrub it in case of any surface rust, and throw it back where it belongs. The key is to make sure you put a light coat of oil on it before you store it again. I have thought about getting it duracoated too, but it just seems like more than what it's worth to me at this point. I clean guns after I shoot them, so I'm in the garage at elast once a week doing this, another gun is not a big deal...

I used to live in the worst conditions in Santa Monica, and gun oxidization was just running amok. Now i know it's unorthodox but lathering it up with some rem oil and wd 40 and just making sure i stocked up on the silicate, and it was alright for a good time. But yeah , if it's happening very often, duracoat / parkerizing it is the way to have a longer fix.
