.410 &.45 question

I have a single shot .410 and read somewhere that I can safely chamber a 45 cal? Is this true?

Shouldn't be any damage. It just won't be very accurate without a rifled barrel.

No damage.... maybe yes, maybe no.

Bear in mind that while the base size of the two cartridges is nearly identical, a .410 shotgun has a bore diameter of .410". .45 LC is a bore diameter of .452". The Taurus guns are bored for .45 LC and the chamber is lengthened to accept the .410 shotshell.

Unless the shotgun is specifically chambered to accept .45 LC, I wouldn't run that round in a .410 shotgun.

Beyond that what about choke? I don't trust a shotgun barrel for for anything but shotshells.
