    WROL or Zombies

    I don't personally own a shotgun, yet, although my father and grandfather do.
    However, I do know that, in addition to a coach gun for SASS and an over/under for ducks, I want/need a home defense pump.

    I agree with the general recommendations for shotguns stated on this board for home defense as Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Still, would those two still hold for a more tactical approach? Or would something like a Stevens 350 be better suited for a WROL or Zombie apocalypse-type situation? And in that case, would having a Stevens pre-SHTF negate the need for the Mossberg or the Remington?

    my home defense (and zombie ) shotgun is a mossburg 590sp. 8 in the mag and one in the hole makes for nine rounds of show stopper power. and it was 600 bucks out the door till i added all the tacticool stuff on it. ill get a pic up in a minute.

    and our leaders allow themselves to be spoon fed with foreign BS and have forgotten that the great majority of americans do not live in secluded gated comunities with private security 24/7 like they do, while the rest of us are subject to defending ourselves without Police escorts whenever we need it. they dont realize we are subject to different dangers than they are, and we must have and keep the right do defend ourselves!

      What do you mean, "would those two still hold for a more tactical approach?" Are you asking because the Stevens comes with rails or something? You can get all sorts of rails, accessories, side saddles, and stocks for the 870 and 500.

      Ohhh, I just decided to google the Stevens 350, and I think the only difference you're looking at is the ghost ring sights. Those are useful for slugs, and for people used to ghost ring sights, but they aren't absolutely necessary. If you really must have them, just pick up a 870 Tactical with XS sights, or a Mossberg 500/590/590A1 with ghost ring sights.

        My end of the world shotgun and zombie blaster is my 590a1. If you want to trick out your shotgun you're probably better off with the 870 or 500. But I'm sure if you have a plain Jane Stevens 350 you'll do just fine in a WROL or Zombie situation (as long as its reliable)
        Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there...

          If you want a pump, get a Mossberg 590A1 with Ghostring sights and SpeedFeed stock..Toughest pump shotgun ive ever owned; end of story.

          if you want a semi-auto...get the Saiga 12, i LOVE mine!

                Just curious, i'm looking at the Mossberg 500 combo i figured i can use it for everything...?

                  Without Rule of law

                  Your 500 will be just fine if you get the deal with the 18 inch barrel as well as the longer barrel. You can swap barrels in a couple of minutes.
                  re The Stevens 350 Something about that stock makes it the hardest kicking pump I've ever dealt with.

                            How about a pump-action shotgun that you can also use for SASS?
