I ordered an extension from Dave Metal Works today http://www.davesmetalworks.com/rem.html

Seemed like the Remington ones are hard to get, and I heard good things about the DMW ones.

Also a SOP sling from specter gear

which comes with a "front side sling mount plate", which I assume means a clamp with a sling swivel on it?

Hopefully this will do the trick.

This topic is right up my alley. I just picked up a Remington 870 express magnum, And was supposed to be a 7 shot in the mag tube But once i took the mag clamp off the mag tube only holds 6 and has crimps around it.
Are these the newer models, And as for the dimples How can i tell if they have them? Cause Now I am going to have to spend $70+ on a tube just for it to hold the 7 shot like i was sold on.

      Thanx

      P.S.

Has anyone had any experience with the mesa tactical stock kits?

I'm imagining that you got the 870HD model, which is labeled as a 7 shot. It's really 7 total, or 6 in the tube, and 1 in the chamber. It is not 7 in the tube.

The crimps are just a natural design of the magazine tube extension. They don't restrict the shells in the tube.

The dimples are at the end of the regular part of the magazine tube. They hold the magazine spring retainer, maxing out the mag capacity at 4 rounds. If your tube holds 6, then you don't have the dimples.

Thanx for the info. can i get a extension tube from remington that will actually hold 7 in the tube other that 6 with an 18" barrel and what do they cost roughly? Or a Good aftermarket one will work (preferably Factory)

          Thanx again.

Well, direct from Remington, I think you have to be Law Enforcement but Brownell's sells them. You can also find one used on the forums. I'd be looking to pay in the ballpark of maybe $60, because they aren't as popular as the +2 extensions.

A +3 will be sticking out a couple of inches under the 18" barrel. I've seen it done and others say that it's okay. IIRC, you'll get a lot of debris on it, so it'll have to be wiped down often.

For those looking for factory +2's. (although I've heard you can order direct from Rem. for cheaper):
